Granite State Doll Club
Please NOTE our new meeting location: Due to the Canterbury Town Hall’s availability we are now meeting at the Parish House of the Canterbury United Community Church in Canterbury Center. The Parish House is located behind the General Store. Take the road to the right of the Store and park on the left side of the road. Use the ramp on the back of the building, entering on the second floor. Any questions call Betty at 603-455-6215, leave a message and she will call you back.
President’s Message: We had a wonderful program last month. Zendelle and Alison did great job with the Betty Curtis Dolls and script originally written for the dolls. I heard many compliments on our new meeting place. There seems to be some difficulty with members hearing all of the meeting and program. It is not just the new location, but unfortunately not all of us can speak as loudly as I can. It was suggested that we look into some kind of amplification system that we could use. Any suggestions or ideas? We will discuss this at our meeting. Susan Voake and I got together for a delicious lunch in New London, NH and to discuss our Standing Rules and the suggestions from the UFDC Parlimentarian. It will take some time to go over the changes and make sure that the By-Laws and the Standing Rules are correlated. I am hoping someone will want to help with this task, as I don't think it is proper for me to do it alone. This will also be on the agenda for our business meeting. See you on World Doll Day for our Open House with the citizens of Canterbury.
Program: Peg Farwell will present the program on “My Mother’s Dolls” and there will also be displays of dolls from Betty, Trudi and Millie. If you have a display of dolls you would like to bring, please contact Betty Bezanson.
Dress a Doll: This month’s theme is “Sunday Best”. Bring a doll ready for church, visiting with family or a special outing.
Please note there will be no sales tables this month.
